The Money Man Has A Big Day

Once in awhile the Money Man Route will have a big Working Man day. Today was Todd's day and as you can see his truck is loaded to the top. He'll have to work with both hands to get this load delivered on time. (Just click on the picture for a larger view).

The Breakfast Stop

A couple times a month I make deliveries to this beautiful Inn & Suits and they give me a breakfast snack if I can get there before breakfast ends. I usually just get a sausage biscuit and roll, but this morning I had scrambled eggs, biscuits with sausage gravy, and a sausage patty (I got there early for a change). The only problem is that its hard to eat off a plate while making deliveries. (Just click on the picture for a larger view).

Northern California GSO Routes

There are two kinds of GSO routes here in Northern California: The Money Man Route (fewer packages, fewer stops and lots of miles) and The Working Man Route (lots of packages, lots of stops and fewer miles). Here is what it looks like after the line haul truck has been unloaded (which is done by all the drivers) and the packages staged behind each driver's vehicle. From the pictures I'm sure you can distinguish between the Money and Worker routes. But there are advantages and disadvantages for both kinds of routes. The Money Man receives more pay, but he has to contend with longer hours behind the wheel and difficult driving conditions during the winter months. The Working Man can usually finish his route in less time, but he has to work harder for less money. (Just click on the pictures for a larger view).

Hard To Find Cottonwood Addresses

If you're delivering to Bo Lane in Cottonwood, its a hard place to find plus very bad roads. Just note the names of the dirt roads and you can see why. Bo Lane is around here somewhere. (Just click on the picture for a larger view).

Delivery in Mineral, California

I had a delivery in Mineral today and this is what it looked like up there. Can you believe this is May 10, and Mineral had another snow storm. The first two pictures are going there; the second two pictures are at the delivery point; and the last picture is leaving. Sure was lucky to be following a snow plow going there but I was the only car on the road going back down. I passed a UPS guy putting chains on this truck. I didn't have chains but thank God I made it up there and back without incident. I sure hope the snow is gone the next time I have to go there. (Just click on the pictures for larger views).

The Lady With A Cart and The Walking Man

Two very familiar figures on the streets of Red Bluff are this Lady With a Cart and her dogs and The Walking Man. Here the Lady is crossing Walnut Street at the Post Office and the Walking Man is walking down Main Street south of Antelope. (Just click on the pictures for a larger view).

Eagle On Highway 36

On my way to Platina the other day I spotted this Bald headed Eagle perched on a limb overlooking Dry Creek. I would be surprised if the Eagle is looking for food. This creek dries up the end of Summer and I doubt if there is any fish in it. (Just click on the pictures for a larger view).
